Regular Season Round 19: Shinshu BW - Tokyo Cinq R. 106-87

There was no surprise in Nagano where 12th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-15) was crushed by tenth ranked Shinshu BW (5-10) 106-87 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Tokyo Cinq R. was better in fourth quarter 28-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shinshu BW made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shinshu BW made 7 blocks. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW's coach Koju Munakata allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and guard Ryan Sypkens (193-91, college: Cal-Davis) added 20 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Shinshu BW moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Takamatsu FA. Tokyo Cinq R. lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Shinshu BW will face again Tokyo Cinq R. (#12) at home in the next round.
