Very expected game in Firenze where 15th ranked Fiorentina (2-8) was defeated by fourth ranked Bergamo (7-3) 72-61 on Saturday. Bergamo outrebounded Fiorentina 39-14 including a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Alessandro Panni (189-91) scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Giacomo Bloise (183-90, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side naturalized Ivorian guard Mohamed Toure (190-92, agency: Players Group) responded with 9 points and 5 rebounds and forward Tommaso Bianchi (190-93) scored 7 points. Bergamo maintains fourth position in B with 7-3 record, which they share with Crema. Newly promoted Fiorentina dropped to the fourteenth place with eight games lost. Bergamo will face league's leader Orzinuovi GaGa at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Fiorentina will play against Sangiorgese (#10) in San Giorgio and hope to win that game.
