Regular Season Round 10: Ourense - Betanzos 68-63

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Ourense's (2-2) home victory over 9th ranked Betanzos (1-4) 68-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-63. Ourense dominated on the defensive end, holding Betanzos to just 6 points in second quarter. They also forced 20 Betanzos turnovers. Dutch center Bob Van Zijverden (212-95) scored 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Cristian Iglesias (198-94) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Jose Miguel Perez (202-96) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Guillermo Pereiro (191-89) scored 15 points and 5 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Ourense moved-up to seventh place in Group A-B. Betanzos lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with four games lost. Ourense will face Estudiantes L. (#11) in Lugo in the next round. Betanzos will play at home against Naron and hope to win that game.
