Regular Season Round 10: L`Alfas - Almassera 63-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Almassera's (7-1) road victory over one of their biggest challengers L`Alfas (4-3) 69-63 on Saturday. L`Alfas trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 20-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 63-69 at the end of the game. Almassera made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Forward Carlos Rodriguez (194-82) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Jose Alfonso Aguilar (185-91) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Belarusian power forward Ivan Zhauniarovich (205-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Iker Benzazoua scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Almassera have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group E with 7-1 record having five points less than leader L'Hospitalet. Newly promoted L`Alfas keeps the third place with three games lost. Almassera will face Sagunto (#9) in Gilet in the next round and are hoping to win another game. L`Alfas will play on the road against UCAM Murcia II (#6) and hope to win that game.
