Regular Season Round 9: Stal SW - Shmoolky W-wa 77-66

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Stal SW (4-5) beat 4th placed Shmoolky W-wa (4-5) in Stalowa Wola 77-66 on Saturday. Stal SW forced 26 Shmoolky W-wa turnovers. Shmoolky W-wa was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Rafal Partyka (184-79) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Center Tomasz Pawlus (186-96) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Tomasz Rudko (186-89) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Mikolaj Motel (192-94) added 14 points in the effort for Shmoolky W-wa. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Stal SW moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 10 other teams including defeated Shmoolky W-wa. Stal SW will face league's second-placed Gimbasket PRZM in Przemysl in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shmoolky W-wa will play at home against Tur Bielsk Pdl. and hope to win that game.
