Regular Season Round 8: Chiba Jets - Nishinomiya S. 97-73

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Chiba Jets (6-7) outleveled at home bottom-ranked Nishinomiya S. (2-13) 97-73 on Saturday. The game without a history. Chiba Jets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Nishinomiya S.'s players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds. The other American import power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Chiba Jets' coach Zeljko Pavlicevic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) produced a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Shinnosuke Negoro (195-87) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Chiba Jets have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Nishinomiya S. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. Chiba Jets will face Tsukuba R. (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Nishinomiya S. will play against Hitachi Sunrockers and hope to win that game.
