There was a minor upset when 3rd ranked Tenerife Naut. (5-2) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Torrelodones (4-3) 62-55 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 62-55. Torrelodones dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Tenerife Naut.'s 32. Forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield, agency: Duran International) scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Jordan Djounorou chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Niang Sergine (200-88) responded with 14 points and power forward Juan Andres Garcia (199-79) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Torrelodones moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Alcazar and Real Canoe. Loser Tenerife Naut. keeps the third position with two games lost. Torrelodones will face Real Madrid II (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tenerife Naut. will play against Real Canoe (#6) and hope to win that game.
