Regular Season Round 9: Osijek - Alkar Sinj 69-63

We should mention about the upset which took place in Osijek, where higher ranked Alkar Sinj (5-3) lost to tenth ranked Vrijednosnice OS (2-6) in a road game 63-69 on Saturday. Alkar Sinj was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Alkar Sinj was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Aljosa Sarac (190-89) who scored 25 points. Power forward Mise Diminic (208-89, agency: XL Basketball Agency) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Vrijednosnice OS's coach Vladimir Krstic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Domagoj Kanaet (197-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and guard Ivan Svalina (196-97) added 12 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. Four Alkar Sinj players scored in double figures. Vrijednosnice OS moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Zabok. Loser Alkar Sinj dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Vrijednosnice OS will face league's second-placed Kvarner in Rijeka in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alkar Sinj will play on the road against Gorica in Velika Gorica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
