Regular Season Round 7: Dunkerque - SIG 58-71

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked SIG and 10th ranked Dunkerque had identical 2-3 record. But Dunkerque was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from llkirch-Graff. 71-58 on Saturday night. Dunkerque was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-6 charge of SIG, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dunkerque to just 6 points in fourth quarter. SIG forced 19 Dunkerque turnovers. Dunkerque was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Aline Fischbach (178-89) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points. Forward Darline NSoki (182-89) helped adding 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four SIG players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Anais Viale (188-91) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and Canadian guard Korissa Williams (175-92) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Dunkerque's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. SIG (3-3) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with LTB 29. Loser Dunkerque dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. SIG will face Charnay (#9) in Charnay-les-Macon in the next round. Dunkerque will play on the road against Roche in La Roche and hope to win that game.
