Regular Season Round 15: JX-Eneos S. - Mitsubishi K. 85-74

WJBL top team - JX-Eneos S. (13-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Mitsubishi K. (8-5) in Kashiwa 85-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mitsubishi K.. The game was mostly controlled by JX-Eneos S.. Mitsubishi K. was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JX-Eneos S. made 16-of-17 charity shots (94.1 percent) during the game. JX-Eneos S. outrebounded Mitsubishi K. 46-34 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. JX-Eneos S.'s coach Kiyomi Sato allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Yuka Kosuge (180-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Mitsubishi K.Five JX-Eneos S. and four Mitsubishi K. players scored in double figures. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for JX-Eneos S.. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-0 record. Mitsubishi K. at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. JX-Eneos S.'s next round opponent will be again Mitsubishi K. (#6) in Nagoya which should be theoretically an easy game.
