Regular Season Round 15: Denso Iris - Chanson V-M 55-57

The most exciting game of round 15 in the WJBL took place in Kariya. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Denso Iris (9-4) to second ranked Chanson V-M (12-1) 57-55 on Saturday evening. Denso Iris were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-16 charge of Chanson V-M, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for guard Minaho Minamiminoru (167-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. International forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) helped adding 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was international center Sakura Akaho (182-96) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Chanson V-M have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-1 record behind leader JX-Eneos S., which they share with Fujitsu RW. Denso Iris at the other side keep the fifth position with four games lost. Chanson V-M will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Denso Iris will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Chanson V-M (#2) in Shizuoka and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
