The game with biggest result difference took place in Cancun. Local Pioneros (10-2) outscored 10th ranked Santos (4-10) 107-76. The game without a history. Pioneros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Santos' 34. Pioneros had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Pioneros especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Santos' players. 31 personal fouls committed by Santos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international forward Stephen Soriano (200-85, college: Colorado Mesa) notched 31 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) supported him with 13 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Pioneros players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Chris Cayole (201-85, college: St.Michael's) did not help to save the game for Santos. His fellow American import Jermaine Dailey (203-86, college: Ill.-Chicago) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pioneros have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record having five points less than leader Soles. Newly promoted Santos keep the tenth place with ten games lost. Pioneros' next round opponent will be Halcones Rojos (#4) in Veracruz.
