Very expected game in S'Arenal where 10th ranked Lobe Huesca (4-6) was defeated by second ranked Palma (8-2) 85-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Palma. Lobe Huesca was better in third quarter 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Palma looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Lobe Huesca's players. Point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Ricardo Guillen (207-76, agency: Duran International) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Palma players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Gabas Maldunas (206-93, college: Dartmouth) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Palma have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-2 record behind leader Palencia. Loser Lobe Huesca keeps the tenth place with six games lost. Palma will face bottom-ranked CB Prat (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lobe Huesca will play against Burgos (#7) and hope to win that game.
