Very expected game when 10th ranked Martina Franca (3-7) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Ortona (7-3) 79-55 on Sunday. Point guard Manuel Diomede (188-90, agency: Two Points) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Arcangelo Leo (203-81) chipped in 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side power forward Giacomo Dell'Agnello (201-94) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian swingman Nicolas D'Arrigo (193-93, agency: Players Group) scored 20 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ortona moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Bergamo and Crema. Loser Martina Franca dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Ortona will face higher ranked San Severo (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Martina Franca will play against Valmontone (#15) and hope to win that game.
