No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Socinsa Bembibre (7-3) defeated at home 13th ranked Gran Canaria (3-7) 66-60 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-60. Power forward Rita Montenegro (188-82) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Anna Gomez (181-86, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 6 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Gran Canaria at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Gipuzkoa UPV and Zamarat. Socinsa Bembibre will meet Mann Filter (#6) in the next round. Gran Canaria will play against the league's second-placed Argon Uni Girona (#2) and hope to secure a win.
