Regular Season Round 20: Shinshu BW - Tokyo Cinq R. 76-65

Date: November 29, 2015
There was no surprise in Nagano where 12th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-16) was defeated by tenth ranked Shinshu BW (6-10) 76-65 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Tokyo Cinq R. was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shinshu BW made 11 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 8 blocks. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW's coach Koju Munakata used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Ryan Sypkens (193-91, college: Cal-Davis) produced 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) added 6 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Shinshu BW maintains tenth position with 6-10 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Shinshu BW will face higher ranked Osaka Evessa (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tokyo Cinq R. will play against Shiga L-Stars (#5) and hope to win that game.
