Regular Season Round 10: Castelldefels - AEC Collblanc 65-78

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked AEC Collblanc (5-5) beat on the road one of their biggest challengers Castelldefels (5-5) 78-65 on Sunday. AEC Collblanc made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game, while Castelldefels only scored three points from the stripe. Strangely Castelldefels outrebounded AEC Collblanc 30-18 including 20 on the defensive glass. Castelldefels was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Antoni Figuerola (-94) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Josep Maria Guzman (182-84) chipped in 13 points during the contest. Four AEC Collblanc players scored in double figures. AEC Collblanc's coach Jose Marsa used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side swingman Adria Mestres (190-89) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and guard Jaume Torres (187-83) scored 12 points and 4 assists. AEC Collblanc moved-up to third place in Group C-B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Castelldefels. AEC Collblanc will face league's second-placed Santfeliuenc in Sant Feliu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Castelldefels will play on the road against the league's leader L'Hospitalet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
