Regular Season Round 11: Akropol - Udominate 40-74

Bottom-ranked Akropol (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 74-40 loss to second ranked Udominate (11-1) in Spanga on Sunday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game without a history. Udominate led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Akropol to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Udominate dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Akropol's 24. Udominate forced 32 Akropol turnovers. It was a great evening for Slovakian center Klaudia Lukacovicova (195-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. International guard Frida Aili (180-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 14 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Four Udominate players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Jovana Ciric (173-83) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) and point guard Maria Melkon (165-89) scored 10 points. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Udominate. They maintain second place with 11-1 record behind leader Lulea Basket. Akropol lost their twelfth game in a row. They still close the standings with 12 games lost. Udominate will meet at home Visby Ladies (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Akropol will have a break next round.
