Regular Season Round 8: Mondeville - Nantes 64-63

Important game to mention about took place in Mondeville. Sixth ranked Mondeville (4-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 10th ranked Nantes Reze (2-5) 64-63 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nantes Reze won fourth quarter 15-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Canadian forward Kimberley Gaucher-Smith (186-84, college: Utah) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Canadian forward Michelle Plouffe (193-92, college: Utah) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Spanish swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Latvian power forward Aija Putnina (191-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Nantes Reze. Four Nantes Reze players scored in double figures. Mondeville maintains sixth position with 4-3 record, which they share with Charleville-Mez. Nantes Reze lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. Mondeville will face higher ranked Lattes Montpellier (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nantes Reze will play against Hainaut (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
