Regular Season Round 8: COB Calais - Arras 80-77

COB Calais' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Arras (1-6) 80-77 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. COB Calais made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by New Zealand guard Erin Rooney (173-90, college: Fordham, agency: LBM Management) who scored that evening 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Samantha Logic (175-92, college: Iowa, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. Even a double-double of 19 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists by Dutch forward Chatilla Van Grinsven (190-89, college: St.Joseph's, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Arras. point guard Alix Duchet (165-97) added 14 points and 6 assists for the guests. Four COB Calais and five Arras players scored in double figures. COB Calais left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with Toulouse and Arras. COB Calais will meet higher ranked Lyon (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Arras will play against Charleville-Mez. (#7) and hope to win that game.
