First defeat of league's leader Nice (6-1) against seventh ranked Charleville-Mez. (4-3) 78-71 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Nice. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nice won fourth quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Charleville-Mez. shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Guard Amel Bouderra (160-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists. Ukrainian center Valeriya Berezhynska (193-86, college: Rice, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Four Charleville-Mez. players scored in double figures. American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) replied with 8 points and 8 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Ambrosia Anderson (186-84, college: BYU, agency: Two Points) added 17 points in the effort for Nice. Nice's coach Rachid Meziane rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Charleville-Mez. moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mondeville. Newly promoted Nice dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Lattes Montp.. They were replaced at the leadership position by Villeneuve. Nice will play next round against Toulouse trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Charleville-Mez. will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Arras on the road.
