Regular Season Round 8: Torino - Lucca 39-60
Date: November 29, 2015
Very predictable result when top-ranked Lucca (8-0) rolled over on the road 9th ranked Torino (3-5) 60-39. It looked good early as Torino took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lucca had a 22-12 second period charge getting the lead and Torino was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 39-60. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Torino to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Lucca forced 27 Torino turnovers and outrebounded them 42-25 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kayla Pedersen (193-89, college: Stanford, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds and international swingman Martina Crippa (178-89, agency: Players Group) who added 18 points and 5 steals during the contest. American guard Yvonne Anderson (170-90, college: Texas, agency: Two Points) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and her fellow American import center Jenna Smith (191-88, college: Illinois, agency: Two Points) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Torino's coach Emanuele Petrachi gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lucca have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Familia Schio. Newly promoted Torino dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Lucca will play against Di Lupari (#5) in San Martino di L in the next round. Torino will play on the road against Napoli and hopes to get back on the winning track.
