Regular Season Round 9: Sammic ISB - Clinicas Rincon 71-68

A very interesting game took place in Azpeitia. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Clinicas Rincon (3-6) to fifth ranked Sammic ISB (6-3) 71-68 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Clinicas Rincon won fourth quarter 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sammic ISB forced 20 Clinicas Rincon turnovers. The best player for the winners was French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. Norwegian Nikolas Skouen (193-90, college: Pepperdine, agency: Duran International) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Congolese forward Judicael Belemene (205-97) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and British swingman Morayo Soluade (196-95) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Sammic ISB moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Clinicas Rincon lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with six games lost. Sammic ISB's next round opponent will be Araberri (#6) in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Clinicas Rincon will play at home against Zornotza and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
