Regular Season Round 9: Maccabi K/G - Bnei Hertzeliyya 68-71

A very interesting game took place in Kiryat Gat. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 11th ranked Maccabi K/G (2-7) to seventh ranked Bnei Hasharon (5-4) 71-68 on Monday evening. It looked good early as Maccabi K/G took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bnei Hasharon had a 22-14 second period charge getting the lead and Maccabi K/G was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-71. Bnei Hasharon made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Stephen Dennis (198-87, college: Kutztown, agency: HMS) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. Four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Alando Tucker (198-84, college: Wisconsin) who recorded 26 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi K/G lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. Bnei Hasharon's next round opponent will be Maccabi Ashdod (#7) on the road. Maccabi K/G will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel Jerusalem (#2) and hope to win that game.
