Regular Season Round 9: Maccabi Haifa - Ironi Nes-Ziona 74-57

Date: November 30, 2015
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Maccabi Haifa (5-3) beat at home 11th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (2-7) 74-57 on Monday. Maccabi Haifa had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Maccabi Haifa made 14 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Reginald Buckner (206-91, college: Mississippi, agency: CGL Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. His fellow American import swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Maccabi Haifa's coach Rami Hadar used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (201-90, college: Murray St., agency: Comsport) added 7 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Ironi Nes-Ziona. Maccabi Haifa moved-up to fifth place. Ironi Nes-Ziona lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. Maccabi Haifa will face league's second-placed Hapoel Jerusalem at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Ironi Nahariya (#3) and hope to win that game.
