Regular Season Round 9: Vitebsk - COR-Borisfen 81-92

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vitebsk. Second ranked COR-Borisfen faced 4th placed Vitebsk. Guests from Mogilev (6-1) defeated host Vitebsk (4-4) 92-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Vitebsk. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 52-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. COR-Borisfen forced 21 Vitebsk turnovers. Strangely Vitebsk outrebounded COR-Borisfen 38-26 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Vitebsk helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian center Maksym Kozlovets (205-90) who scored 28 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Victor Ovsepyan (204-91) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds and forward Marsel Ovsepian (202-90) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four COR-Borisfen and five Vitebsk players scored in double figures. COR-Borisfen maintains second place with 6-1 record having just three points less than leader Grodno-93. Vitebsk at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. COR-Borisfen are looking forward to face Impuls BGUIR (#3) in Minsk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Vitebsk will play at home against the league's leader Grodno-93 and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
