The most exciting game of round 23 in the LigaA took place in Sunchales. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-ranked Libertad Sunchales (12-6) to ninth ranked La Union (8-11) 88-87 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Libertad Sunchales. The former international swingman Alexis Elsener (196-88) saved the victory by scoring 23 points. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. point guard Juan Brussino (185-91) answered with 23 points and Marcos Saglietti (190-86) added 17 points and 6 assists in the effort for Libertad Sunchales. Four La Union and five Libertad Sunchales players scored in double figures. La Union have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Libertad Sunchales at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. La Union are looking forward to face higher ranked Sionista (#5) in Parana in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Libertad Sunchales will play at home against Lanus and is hoping to win this game.
