There was a minor upset when higher ranked Saint Vallier (6-5) was outscored by eleventh ranked SAP Vaucluse (6-5) in Sorgues 88-67 on Tuesday. The game without a history. SAP Vaucluse led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by Adrien Thimon (188-94) who scored that evening 22 points and 5 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Daye Kaba (191-86, college: Marist) supported him with 15 points. SAP Vaucluse's coach Stephane Dao felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals by Jonathan Hoyaux (196-88) did not help to save the game for Saint Vallier. Power forward Harry Disy (200-84, college: Louisiana Tech) added 13 points. SAP Vaucluse moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Saint Vallier. SAP Vaucluse will meet Caen (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Saint Vallier will play against JSA Bordeaux (#15) and hope to secure a win.
