Second Stage Round 5: Bayi - Liaoning 85-73

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Liaoning Hengye (4-1) in Yinzhou on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Bayi Kylin (5-0) 85-73. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Liaoning Hengye. It was a key game for the top position in Play Out. The game was mostly controlled by Bayi Kylin. Liaoning Hengye managed to win fourth quarter 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward MengXin Sun (190-93) stepped up and scored 22 points and 5 steals for the winners and forward Xue Wang (185-93) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. International forward Feng Cheng (186-90) responded with 24 points and American center Kara Braxton (198-83, college: Georgia) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Liaoning Hengye players scored in double figures. Bayi Kylin have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place in Play Out with 5-0 record. Liaoning Hengye at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Bayi Kylin are looking forward to face Shandong (#6) in Jinan in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Liaoning Hengye will play at home against Henan (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
