Regular Season Round 12: Sallen - Alvik Basket 65-52

Date: December 2, 2015
Rather expected game in Uppsala where 6th ranked Alvik Basket (5-9) was defeated by fourth ranked Sallen (8-4) 65-52 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Sallen. Alvik Basket managed to win third quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sallen made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Tiffany Brown (165-86, college: Georgia South) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals and the other American import swingman Christy Bacon (182-80, college: Wyoming) who added 10 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Paula Juhlin (184-91) with 15 points and guard Ellinor Holmberg (170-96) scored 11 points. Alvik Basket's coach Francisco Pinto rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sallen maintains fourth position with 8-4 record. Loser Alvik Basket keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Sallen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Alvik Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Stockholm to the arena Fryshuset.
