Regular Season Round 7: Minas - Mogi 74-71

The most exciting game of round 7 in the NBB took place in Belo Horizonte. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Mogi (4-2) to eighth ranked Minas (3-4) 74-71 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Mogi. Mogi was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 23-15 charge of Minas, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (190-90, college: Canisius) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 assists. International guard Danilo Fuzaro (193-94) contributed with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) answered with 15 points and naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) added 10 points in the effort for Mogi. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Minas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Universo/Vitoria. Mogi at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Flamengo and Franca. Minas is looking forward to face higher ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mogi will play against Brasilia and is hoping to win this game.
