Not a big story in a game in Tianjin where 20th ranked TianJin Steel (1-11) was defeated by fifteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (5-7) 113-97 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 113-97. Jiangsu Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to TianJin Steel's 50. The best player for the winners was American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) who scored 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. The former international point guard XueFeng Hu (185-80) chipped in 24 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jordan Crawford (193-88, college: Xavier) who recorded 42 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jason Maxiell (201-83, college: Cincinnati) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Jiangsu Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. TianJin Steel lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face Jilin Tigers (#18) in Changchun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TianJin Steel will play on the road against North Control in Beijing and hope to win that game.
