Regular Season Round 4: Flying Foxes - Kara Trutnov 51-54

Austrian Flying Foxes (3-1) recorded its first loss in Wien on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Czech Kara Trutnov (1-1) 54-51. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Flying Foxes. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Flying Foxes won fourth quarter 16-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kara Trutnov dominated on the defensive end, holding Flying Foxes to just 6 points in third quarter. Strangely Flying Foxes outrebounded Kara Trutnov 46-26 including a 29-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Jamie Russell (173-90, college: Illinois St.) fired 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Emily Cady (188-93, college: Nebraska) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Chastity Reed (185-89, college: UALR) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Aaryn Ellenberg (170-92, college: Oklahoma) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Kara Trutnov left bottom position moving up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with Samorin. Defending Austrian champion Flying Foxes keep the fifth position with one game lost. Kara Trutnov is looking forward to face SBS Ostrava (#9) at home in the next round. Flying Foxes will play against ICIM Arad (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
