There was an upset in Pamplona where higher ranked Planasa NV (5-6) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Lleida Basquet (4-7) 76-66 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Lleida Basquet. Planasa NV was better in second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Puerto Rican-American forward Emmy Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Jorge Garcia (203-77) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Lleida Basquet's coach Joaquin Prado used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Oliver Arteaga (208-83) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and guard Inaki Narros (196-81) added 21 points respectively for the hosts. The victory was the third consecutive win for Lleida Basquet. Lleida Basquet moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Penas Huesca and Caceres. Loser Planasa NV keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Lleida Basquet will face higher ranked Ourense (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
