There was a minor upset in Czestochowa where 5th ranked AZS PCz (5-4) was defeated by eighth ranked Zaglebie (5-5) 79-73 on Friday. Zaglebie outrebounded AZS PCz 43-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Point guard Michal Kwiatkowski (186-92, agency: Promotex) scored 23 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Filip Taisner (202-94) chipped in 12 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side swingman Mateusz Gazarkiewicz (193-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and forward Szymon Rynkiewicz (198-91) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Five Zaglebie and four AZS PCz players scored in double figures. Zaglebie moved-up to sixth place in Group C, which they share with Alba Chorzow and Pogon RS. Loser AZS PCz keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Zaglebie will face AZS AWF M. II (#10) in Katowice in the next round. AZS PCz will play at home against Cieszyn (#9) and hope to win that game.
