Regular Season Round 13: Shandong FB - Zhejiang CB 108-106

The most exciting game of round 13 in the CBA took place in Jinan. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (7-6) to eighth ranked Shandong Bulls (8-5) 108-106 in the game for the sixth place. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 29-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 106-108 at the end of the game. Shandong Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's 50. Strangely Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank outrebounded Shandong Bulls 53-34 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. 31 personal fouls committed by Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 assists and 5 steals. American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) contributed with 27 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 24 rebounds and Iranian forward Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-83) added 27 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Shandong Bulls moved-up to sixth place. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Beijing Ducks. Shandong Bulls are looking forward to face Beijing Ducks (#8) at home in the next round. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play against Jiangsu TX and is hoping to win this game.
