Regular Season Round 11: Ourense - Castello 86-75

The game between third ranked Castello (7-4) and tenth ranked Ourense (5-6) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Castello was defeated by Ourense in Ourense 86-75. Castello was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 29-17 charge of Ourense, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Canadian-Bosnian guard Diego Kapelan (190-87, college: McNeese St.) who scored 19 points. Power forward Guillermo Rejon (206-77) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Ourense players scored in double figures. American forward Brandon Garrett (206-90, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Manuel Rodriguez (192-91) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ourense moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Planasa NV. Newly promoted Castello keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ourense is looking forward to face Lleida Basquet (#13) on the road in the next round. Castello will play against Lobe Huesca (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
