Regular Season Round 7: St Quentin - Boulazac 84-93

There was no surprise when 18th ranked Saint-Quentin (1-6) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Boulazac Basket (4-2) 93-84 on Friday. Saint-Quentin trailed by 26 points after 3 quarters before a 28-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-93 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for American David Jackson (195-86, college: W.Illinois) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Matt Carlino (189-92, college: Marquette) helped adding 21 points. Four Boulazac Basket players scored in double figures. Boulazac Basket's coach Antoine Michon used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American swingman Ryan Evans (203-90, college: Wisconsin) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Meredis Houmounou (188-88) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Boulazac Basket moved-up to sixth place. Loser Saint-Quentin stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Boulazac Basket will face higher ranked Le Portel (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Saint-Quentin will play against Chorale de Roanne (#13) and hope to win that game.
