Regular Season Round 7: Poitiers - Lille 88-82

There was an upset when higher ranked Lille Metropole (3-4) was defeated on the road by seventeenth ranked Poitiers (2-5) 88-82 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 28-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Poitiers forced 20 Lille Metropole turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American point guard Darrin Dorsey (188, college: Dakota Wesleyan) helped adding 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Poitiers players scored in double figures. Poitiers' coach Rudy Nelhomme used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American guard T.J. Price (193-93, college: W.Kentucky) responded with 25 points and the other American import guard Jamal Jones (203-93, college: Texas A&M, agency: HMS) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Poitiers moved-up to sixteenth place. Lille Metropole lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with four games lost. Poitiers will face higher ranked Nantes (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
