Regular Season Round 13: Fujian QB - Qingdao E. 124-99

The game between thirteenth ranked Fujian (6-7) and 16th ranked Qingdao Eagles (4-9) in Jinjiang on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Fujian outscored guests from Qingdao 124-99. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Qingdao Eagles. The game was mostly controlled by Fujian. Qingdao Eagles was better in second period 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fujian dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Qingdao Eagles' 58 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Fujian had a 35-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Fujian players scored in double figures. Swingman Chengyu Zhang (193-89) answered with 30 points and 4 assists and American center Alan Williams (203-93, college: UCSB) added 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Qingdao Eagles. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fujian moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Qingdao Eagles keep the sixteenth position with nine games lost. Fujian will face Shanghai Sharks (#12) at home in the next round. Qingdao Eagles will play against DongGuan Leopards (#9) and hope to win that game.
