Regular Season Round 8: Roche - Dunkerque 83-81

Tenth-ranked Dunkerque (2-5) made lots of trouble for third ranked Roche (6-2) in La Roche on Saturday. Roche managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 20-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Senegalese forward Mariame Dia (185-78) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Aurelie Carmona (185-87) who added 14 points during the contest. Four Roche players scored in double figures. Roche's coach Emmanuel Body allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Canadian guard Korissa Williams (175-92) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Dace Pierre-Joseph (187-81) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Roche maintains third position with 6-2 record behind leader Aulnoye. Loser Dunkerque dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. They share the position with Montbrison and Charnay. Roche will meet Charnay (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Dunkerque will play against Montbrison and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
