There was no surprise in Sant Adria de Besos where 13th ranked Segle XXI (2-8) was crushed by second ranked Sant Adria (8-2) 84-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Sant Adria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Segle XXI to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Segle XXI 41-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Ainhoa Lopez (180-97) fired 32 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Power forward Marta Claret (185-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Center Laia Sole (184-98) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Aina Ayuso (181-99) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sant Adria maintains second position in Group B with 8-2 record behind leader Alcobendas. Loser Segle XXI keeps the thirteenth place with eight games lost. Sant Adria will face Plenilunio (#7) in Madrid in the next round where they are favorite. Segle XXI will play at home against IF Air Europa (#4) and hope to win that game.
