Regular Season Round 10: HyPo - Honka 72-51

The most important game in the last round took place in Hyvinkaa between third ranked Tapiolan Honka (6-5) and fourth ranked HyPo (6-3) on Saturday night. Tapiolan Honka was crushed by HyPo on the road 51-72. The game without a history. HyPo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 24 Tapiolan Honka turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Bria Goss (178-92, college: Kentucky, agency: Merit Management Group) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of her seven free throws). Power forward Titta-Riina Lepisto (184-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. International swingman Heta Korpivaara (185-84, college: Seton Hall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and guard Kia Vaalavirta (173-99) added 6 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Tapiolan Honka. Tapiolan Honka's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. HyPo have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Tapiolan Honka at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. HyPo are looking forward to face league's leader Catz Lappeenranta on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tapiolan Honka will play against Forssan Alku and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
