Regular Season Round 21: Tokyo Cinq R. - Shiga L-Stars 53-96

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Shiga L-Stars (13-5) crushed on the road 12th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-18) 96-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shiga L-Stars. Tokyo Cinq R. was better in fourth quarter 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tokyo Cinq R. to just 6 points in third quarter. Shiga L-Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 22. Shiga L-Stars forced 22 Tokyo Cinq R. turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. American center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) answered with 8 points and 13 rebounds and guard Tomohiro Sawaatama (180-90) added 16 points in the effort for Tokyo Cinq R.The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Shiga L-Stars. They maintain third place with 13-5 record having just two points less than leader Sendai 89ers. Tokyo Cinq R. lost their thirteenth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
