Regular Season Round 9: Bologna - Ferrara 50-66

Undefeated leader Ferrara delivered the ninth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Bologna (4-4) 66-50. The game was mostly controlled by Ferrara. Bologna was better in third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ferrara dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Bologna's 22 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Serena Bona (181-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91, agency: Players Group) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Chiara Mini (165-86) who recorded 22 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Bologna's coach Matteo Lolli rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Ferrara. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Newly promoted Bologna keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Ferrara will face Brindisi (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bologna will play against Palermo (#9) and hope to win that game.
