Regular Season Round 9: Polpharma - Rosa Radom 54-65

Very predictable result in Starogard where seventh ranked Rosa (6-3) beat bottom-ranked Polpharma (1-8) 65-54 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rosa. Polpharma was better in fourth quarter 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Polpharma 46-26 including a 40-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-89) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. American C.J. Harris (191-91, college: Wake Forest) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Marcin Flieger (185-84, agency: Promotex) who recorded 13 points and American center Damien Kinloch (203-80, college: Tenn Tech) added 4 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Polpharma's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rosa moved-up to sixth place. Polpharma lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Rosa will face league's second-placed Energa Czarni in Slupsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Polpharma will play on the road against Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (#10) and hope to win that game.
