Regular Season Round 11: Penas Huesca - Burgos 79-80

A very close game took place in Huesca between Burgos and Lobe Huesca. Eighth ranked Burgos (6-5) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Lobe Huesca (4-7). Burgos managed to escape with a 1-point win 80-79 on Saturday evening. Lobe Huesca cut a 13-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. Burgos forced 20 Lobe Huesca turnovers. It was a great evening for Austrian Anton Maresch (191-91, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 4 assists. Guard Rafael Huertas (191-84, agency: Court Side) helped adding 17 points. Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Lluis Costa (187-93) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Five Burgos and four Lobe Huesca players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Burgos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Breogan. Lobe Huesca at the other side keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Caceres and Forca Lleida. Burgos will meet at home bottom-ranked CB Prat (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lobe Huesca will play against Castello (#4) in Castellon and hope to secure a win.
