Regular Season Round 21: Niigata Albirex - Kanazawa Samuraiz 73-71

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Kanazawa Samuraiz (9-10) was edged on the road by fifth ranked Niigata Albirex (12-6) 73-71 on Saturday. Kanazawa Samuraiz was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 15-11 charge of Niigata Albirex, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Chris Oliver (201-85, college: Radford) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Marshall Brown (200-85, college: Missouri) answered with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Kanazawa Samuraiz. Niigata Albirex moved-up to second place. Kanazawa Samuraiz lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Niigata Albirex will face again Kanazawa Samuraiz (#7) in Ishikawa in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
