Regular Season Round 7: Boulogne - Le Portel 80-88

Leading SO Maritime Boulogne (5-2) recorded its second loss in Boulogne-sur-Mer. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Le Portel (5-2) 88-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SO Maritime Boulogne. It looked good early as SO Maritime Boulogne took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Le Portel took control winning next two quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 8 points. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by SO Maritime Boulogne's players. It was an exceptional evening for American center Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. The former international Gary Chathuant (190-83) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. American forward Lance Goulbourne (203-89, college: Vanderbilt) came up with 20 points and the other American import point guard Garrett Sim (185-90, college: Oregon) added 13 points respectively for SO Maritime Boulogne in the defeat. Four SO Maritime Boulogne players scored in double figures. Le Portel moved-up to third place, which they share with Bourg and Boulogne. Le Portel will play against Boulazac Basket (#6) at home in the next round. SO Maritime Boulogne will play against Denain Voltaire and hopes to get back on the winning track.
