Regular Season Round 9: Rapla - Audentese/N. 78-74

Alexela KML top team - Rapla (8-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat ninth ranked Audentese/N. (0-11) 78-74. It looked good early as Audentese/N. took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rapla had a 22-9 second period charge getting the lead and Audentese/N. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-78. They outrebounded Audentese/N. 52-38 including a 24-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Audentese/N. was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Will Artino (211-92, college: Creighton) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Devin Brooks (186-92, college: Creighton) accounted for 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Sander Raieste (200-99) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Siim-Markus Post (185-97) added 19 points respectively for Audentese/N. in the defeat. Four Audentese/N. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rapla have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Audentese/N. at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Rapla will play against Valga (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Audentese/N.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tallinn TLU/Kalev.
